You know you've seen the videos on IG and Facebook. It's gone viral and now it's a pretty regular practice: Goat Yoga! But what is it?
Goat yoga is a fun, therapeutic yoga experience. Typically led by a certified yoga instructor, you'll practice some beginner poses while goats of all ages join you in class. Most locations use friendly, baby or miniature goats who love to participate. Whether you are in down dog or warrior, you might feel the light pressure of a baby goat jump up onto your knee or your back. They love to use your legs as a tunnel to walk through.
So many people think yoga needs to be a quiet, serious practice - but in truth, yoga is about freedom, and what is more liberating than joy?
If you're looking for a local spot to practice Goat Yoga, check out Critter Creek Farm in Rock Hill. They offer classes at the Historic White House and also at Anne Springs Close Greenway.
