Description
Join us for Children’s Day on the Farm. This year, in honor of the 250th anniversary of the beginning of the American Revolution (April 19, 1775), we will be focusing on children’s life, work, and play in the 18th century.
Ongoing Activities:
• Military camp cooking—hands-on activity
• Writing with quill pens—hands-on/make-and-take activity
• Blacksmithing demonstration
• Woodworking—hands-on activity
• 18th-century toys and games—hands-on activity
• Visit a militia camp—hands-on activity
• 18th-century laundry—hands-on activity
Scheduled Activities:
• Children’s militia drills (10 a.m., 11 a.m., 12 p.m., 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., & 3:30 p.m.)
• “Walking in Watt’s Shoes” tour of the Huck’s Defeat Battlefield (10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 2 p.m., & 3 p.m.)
Please note: Brattonsville Road will be closed from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.; please follow the posted detour.
