Next in our series of enjoying Queen City and its surroundings is Pineville! Pineville, NC is so much more than where the mall is. Pineville is home to a super cute downtown, a great farmers market, shopping, and family-friendly places to eat. Pineville makes for a great family day out or an impromptu date night.
Start your morning with donuts and coffee at MJ's. MJ's has been a local staple for decades, this little unassuming storefront is home to some of the best donuts in Charlotte. You'll want to get there early for the best selection, they are open 6 AM-12 PM.
There is not much room to eat in the store so get your treats to go and head a few minutes down the road for a picnic at James K. Polk Homestead and Park. At the Polk Homestead, you can picnic and tour the grounds.
If history is not your jam, eat your treats on the go and head to Sky Zone, and let the kids get the wiggles out.
After that head to Carolina Tabletop Games for some boardgame fun and snacks. In addition to games to play, this unique game store has the largest selection of games we can find which means you can find something everyone will agree on to take home and play.
Older kids will enjoy an afternoon at Golf Village. You can get a large bucket of balls for $14!
Once you're done with golf, head to MIddle James for an adult beverage and lunch. Middle James has a huge area for kids to run and play in addition to weekly features including trivia nights.
Spend the rest of the day wandering downtown Pineville, there are great local shops and treats at the Waterbean Coffee.
Round out the evening with dinner at The Waldhorn for great German food and an amazing atmosphere.
