Weekly Group Bike Rides with CycleHops at Amor Artis!

By Andrea Horner May 3, 2021

When COVID hit last year I purchased a mountain bike so I could start riding bikes with the kids. However, I realized that I was enjoying the bike rides more than they were! I found myself taking evening rides by myself when the kids were winding down for the day.

I love the camaraderie of my group exercise classes at the YMCA but wanted to be outside working out when the weather was nice. So, I put up a post in my Facebook mom groups to see if there were any other moms that might want to ride together. Someone recommended a  weekly ride group called CycleHops, organized by Amor Artis Brewing.

I decided to check it out this past week, and I’m so glad I did! We rode an 8-10 mile bike ride through the picturesque downtown Fort Mill area. I felt like I was getting my own personal tour of the historical homes, cemeteries and downtown businesses on Main Street that I never knew existed!

I would say it’s an intermediate-level ride; some uphill, some downhill and flat terrain. There were approximately 30 riders in our group of all ages and fitness levels. Everyone was so nice and welcoming! They have a rule that they leave no rider behind, so they literally wait at certain points throughout the ride until everyone in the group catches up.

The group meets in the back parking lot of Amor Artis at 6:15 (make sure you cushion in some extra time for parking, it’s fairly limited in downtown Fort Mill) and they ride out at 6:30 pm sharp!

A couple of perks to note: make sure you get your Amor Artis CycleHops punch card when you check in. When you achieve 10 punches (or rides), you get a free CycleHops t-shirt! (All the cool people in the group were wearing them   ). Also, riders get $5 pints in the taproom after the ride! Helmets required, lights recommended!

For more information, check the events page of the Amor Artis website and follow their Facebook page. Amor Artis is located at 204 Main Street Suite 101 Fort Mill, SC 29715.
