EGGciting Things are Happening This Weekend in Lancaster Co.

Lancaster County Parks & Recreation Hosts Inaugural Easter Egg Hunt April 3, 2021

By Rachael Weiss ~ Publisher March 29, 2021

Last year, we all hid eggs around our yards and in the house and hoped for the best; uncertainty about the virus loomed and frustrations mounted, as we welcomed in Spring at home.

This year, however, Lancaster County has decided is the year to launch its inaugural Easter Egg Hunt, with the help of its sponsor The Snipes Real Estate Team. Join them on April 3, from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at Walnut Creek Park (10521 Walnut Creek, Lancaster).

This egg hunt is for ages 2 - 10 years old, split into 3 groups: 2-4, 5-7 and 8-10, and the groups will start their hunts on a staggered basis to allow for parents to be with their kids in different places. And, to spice things up a bit - there will be ONE golden egg hidden among the others (in each group) for a special prize. Fluffy, the Easter Bunny, will be camera-ready for your paparazzi pics with the kids!

This is an outdoor event, so no masks are required - though the Parks and Rec department asks you have one with you for your trips to the restrooms. They will be asking people to keep contained to their own households and maintain 6 feet from those outside your immediate family.

The best part: this event is FREE for families to enjoy the holiday together, courtesy of the Lancaster County Parks and Rec and The Snipes Team. They have arranged for giveaways and some vendors will be there (like Macaroni Kid) with candy, toys and other giveaways! Stop by the Macaroni Kid table to enter our special Monster Truckz event giveaway (details will be in next week's newsletter!).

You'll also want to bring a little pocket change and your appetite because Taco Ole, Kona Ice and Hwy 55 will be there with food and treats!

We can't wait to see you there.
