This Sunday is the biggest football game of the year, and that means one thing ... it's time for wings in Fort Mill and Rock Hill!
The National Chicken Council estimated that more than 1.3 billion wings were eaten during the 2019 Super Bowl weekend — and that number just keeps going up year after year.
Fort Mill and Rock Hill are no exception in their love for wings — and our local restaurants sure know how to make wings delicious enough we can't help but devour them down to the bone!
It seems everyone has their favorite Fort Mill-area restaurants from which they order wings. Here are some of our favorite locally-owned restaurants to order wings:
Blue Smokehouse: 1400 Fort Mill Parkway, Fort Mill
Wings we love: Normally, we're all about a traditional wing, but when you see Smoked Honey Peach on the menu, how can you not order them? Another not-to-miss flavor: Blue's Signature BBQ and Firebox Red Hot
Danny's Tega Cay: 2435 West Hwy 160, Tega Cay
Wings we love: One of my best friends is OBSESSED with the Bang Bang and swears you will be, too!
The Dixie Pig, Rock Hill: 2007 Celanese Road, Rock Hill
Wings we love: I've seen glowing reviews of the Medium and XXX Hot. My husband is dying to try the Wild Monkey Habanero!
Empire Pizza: Fort Mill, Indian Land and Rock Hill
1218 Rosemont Drive, Indian Land | 1405 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill | 1405 Riverchase Blvd, Rock Hill
Wings we love: Kids tend to love the mild and the teriyaki; but for the daring among you, you may want to try the Extra Hot and Honey Hot!
Rock City Tavern: 1803 Cherry Road, Rock Hill
Wings we love: The Lemon Pepper wings are a fan favorite, but add in some Honey Hot and it's a showstopping combo!
Shawkers Grill: 1415 E. Main Street, Rock Hill
Wings we love: The Ming Wings got raving reviews from readers, but I'm curious about the Dirty Bird and the Tangy Gold (which is a local favorite!)
Towne Tavern: Fort Mill & Rock Hill
9789 Charlotte Highway, Indian Land | 2000 South Carolina 160, Fort Mill | 235 Main Street, Fort Mill | 2012 Cherry Road, Rock Hill
Wings we love: They're all good - but the best way to eat them is Coach's Style. While it takes a little longer, the flavor is that much better!
WingBonz: 1027 Oakland Ave, Rock Hill
Wings we love: Ming and 24 Karat Gold are pretty much perfection!
Wing King Cafe: 200 Doby's Bridge Road, Fort Mill
Wings we love: With more than 40 flavor combos to enjoy, you really need to get the King Sampler Platter - so you can get 5 wings in each of 5 wing flavors!
