SouthTown Wake Park has become the "must visit" place for many of my friends and neighbors, so of course, I had to take a look for myself. It definitely lived up to the hype! My kids and I were hosted by Beth, and we could not have had more fun! The boys were able to take a beginning wake boarding lesson, while my 7 year old bounced and splashed in the aqua park.

1. The Cable System
When most people think of wake boarding, they think that a boat is required. SouthTown has a cable wake boarding system. The rider is pulled along by an overhead cable ski system. There is a small 2.0 cable for the beginners and riders can progress to the main cable system once they feel comfortable on the board. SouthTown's cable system makes it easy and convenient for anyone to learn the sport.
2. The Aqua park
My daughter and her friend had a blast on this inflatable obstacle course. It is perfect for kids and adults! No skill (other than climbing) is required. However, you have to be 7 years old and 48 inches tall to participate. This course is also great for team building , birthday parties and group events.
3. The Coaches and Staff
This was the first time that either of my boys had been on a wakeboard. They participated in the "starter package" where they received a 20 minute lesson on the beginning cable in the small lake. With the expert advice and encouragement of the coaches, both of them were standing on the wake board before the lesson was over. SouthTown has coaches for every level and the entire staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgable.
4. You can bring your own Lunch
Let's face it, a day out with kids includes food of some type. At SouthTown Wake Park, you can bring in your own cooler with snacks, lunch and non-alcoholic beverages. Only staying for a short time? You can purchase ice cream, candy and drinks at the park. We all had ice cream cookie sandwiches and they were so good after a hot day.
5. There is something for everyone
You don't have to wake board to have a great day at SouthTown Wake Park. Along with the Aqua Park, they have kayaks, paddle boards, outdoor games and lounge chairs where you can just sit back and relax.
