SOAK Your Troubles Away with this New Fort Mill Bath & Beauty Shop!

By Rachael Weiss ~ Publisher January 18, 2021

If the idea of a warm, aromatic bath gives some peace to your mind and body, you to RUN to Fort Mill's newest downtown boutique! SOAK Bath & Beauty opened in downtown Fort Mill in December, just in time to help us all relax and unwind after a hectic year and holiday season.

Whether you prefer a bath bomb for a long soak or a shower bomb for a quick boost, owner Marisa Carducci, worked diligently with USA-based manufacturers to curate her SOAK Bath & Beauty products. The 26-year-old Fort Mill resident is a Clemson graduate, where she studied biological sciences and developed her passion for cosmetic chemistry and self-care.

Carducci's motto is “More Self-Care. Less Chemicals.” She prioritizes sourcing and manufacturing their products locally, using biodegradable and sustainable materials whenever possible! This means, her products can be used by almost anyone. Occasionally, her bath bombs feature a small trinket or toy, which is why she always advises parental supervision.

"Our products are free of parabens, harsh sulfates, phthalates, and some are also free of dyes and gluten. Our younger customers have been enjoying our Cotton Candy, Root Beer, Grape Soda, and Birthday Cake scents," Carducci told us. "The Baby Yoda, House Sorting (Harry Potter), Rainbow, Mermaid and Pokemon bath bombs have also been popular with kids so far!"

While visiting the store, I picked up a House Sorting and Baby Yoda bomb, as well as a 6-pack of mix-n-match mini bombs, which are the perfect size for the baths my kiddos take. For those short on time who still love the aromatic element of a bath bomb, SOAK features shower bombs. These deliciously scented bombs are to be used out of the direct line of water to deliver a boost of aromatherapy. SOAK also carries non-chemical face masks that have been wildly popular with teens! And, something I'd never seen before entering her store: shampoo bars! She even has products that are pet-safe and smell great!

"My favorite routine is popping on an Everyday Charcoal sheet mask, tossing a White Peach Sangria bath bomb in the tub, and sprinkling some Green Tea bath salts in the water for some detoxifying and moisturizing relaxation!”

SOAK Bath & Beauty is open Monday - Saturday, 11A - 7P and will soon be offering birthday parties and private events where customers can gather with their friends and make their own salts, bombs or other similar products. Stay tuned for exciting news about special MacKid events, too!

Marisa told me that  she's "so excited to share these products with the community, and it brings me so much joy to see others enjoying their shopping experiences whether it be in the store, online, or using our curbside local pick up."
